So I wish to contribute to your mod by volunteering my personal replacement versions for the suggested changes. Your mod is among my top 5 favorite warband mods. I am aware that it is easy to criticize a creators' work, but hard to create. Historically, all these armors do not make sense because there is no evidence for widespread use of lamellar armor in the Viking Age. Some are from Native, the others look bad. Remove the newly added armors in your latest patch. The mod must run smoothly even on lower settings.Ħ.
If the gameplay is not smooth, it does not matter how pretty it looks. It contributes very little, few people use it, but it has a high requirement, and the game is spoiled on lower settings because of it. Suggestions and volunteered contributions:ĥ. Also the flying animation for the thrown axe is broken (the axe head and handle get separated). Most of the throwing variants are wasted because the AI is very bad at throwing anyway. Throwing axes and spears also causes many units to throw away their best weapon and draw their seax. But now I got 9 men who throw 3-4 seaxes and one bowman. Normally in the game Finn archers are deadly because they carry two quivers of arrows, bow and seax. I paid 4500 pennies to hire some 10 Finn Archers. These new weapons modifications are game breaking because they upset the balance very badly. Axes also were never thrown (except Franciscas, which were dedicated throwing axes, but those had a very special shape, and are not in the game). Spears are too heavy and unbalanced and were never thrown (unless the shaft broke). It is also very light and unbalanced, so throwing it is useless. It is a dedicated thrusting weapon, and a last-resort option. Second, most of those weapons cannot be thrown.
Firstly, there is no need for throwing versions of seaxes, axes and spears, because the game is full of dedicated throwing weapons with high quiver capacity (javelins, slings). Frankia was famous at that time for making the best swords (Ulfberth swords blades were from Frankia) and the best mail.Ĥ. Does not make sense economically, does not look good, is not historical. I went to a famous armorer after getting 600 renown and purchased "a coat of mail from Frankia" and received instead a very shabby lamellar armor with rags and torn clothing. The mod creator gave some suggestions for removing it but they did not work. Setting to low or medium shaders makes fast travel on map problematic because of graying out. This slows down the game, especially in large battles or in forests. It has very little effect, but requires shaders to be set to high. The clouds.dds spoils the game experience. I am reviewing this latest version after about 30 hours of play (Lordly Sandbox)in this new version and about 200 hours gameplay in the previous versions (full storyline, then continued as Sandbox).
